2026 marks the 15th Annual Howling Good Time Gala, the major yearly fundraiser for the Friends of Douglas County K-9 organization.
These heroes and their intrepid handlers live to serve, working tirelessly to keep us all safe, day in and day out. This year's gala celebrates all they do for the Douglas County community—it's your chance to show up, support them in their endeavors, and have a howling good time in the process!

The Howling Good Time Gala is the signature annual fundraising event for K-9 Friends, the 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to supporting the Douglas County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit and Wellness Program. Thanks to your generosity, we’re able to help purchase new K-9 Officers, as well as Service and Therapy dogs, and help provide them with their specialized training and equipment. Just as importantly, we provide lifelong veterinary care for all retired K-9s, so their handlers can focus on what matters most: giving these loyal companions the love and attention they deserve in retirement.
Come and meet the heroic K-9 Officers and their handlers, snuggle the Therapy dogs, bid on items in the live and silent auctions, enjoy a delicious plated dinner, and have fun!
