The 2016 Gala was the most successful since the charity’s founding in 2011.
And the excitement continues. You can still contribute to the K-9 Unit by making a one-time donation.
The 2016 Howling Good Time Gala was a welcome party for K-9 Colt, the newest addition to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. We also congratulated Todd Tucker for his promotion to Corporal (a first for the DCSO K-9 Unit) and recognized the service of two long-standing K-9 Friends board members, Jill Cooke and Deb Strachan. The evening’s presenters were K-9 Friends Chairman Dr. David Swieckowski and DCSO Undersheriff Holly Nicholson-Kluth.
All donations to K-9 Friends and proceeds from the Gala directly benefit the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. Training and safety gear are always at the top of the wish list for our K-9s, and ongoing medical care for retired dogs is essential.
Animal Emergency & Specialty Center Gracious supporters of K-9 Friends since our inception, the Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC) has been named the first ever Ongoing Platinum Sponsor by the Board of Directors. The DCSO K-9 Unit counts on AESC when there’s an emergency and you can, too. AESC provides expert emergency and critical care, internal medicine, specialized surgery and specialty care services including radiology/ultrasound, cardiology and rehabilitation therapy for your pets. Franktown Animal Clinic Franktown Animal Clinic has been providing expert veterinary care in the Southeast Denver area since 1990. Their new medical center is one of the largest and best-equipped in the state of Colorado. But it’s their PEOPLE who make the difference for your pet.
This kind of genuine commitment to K-9 Friends is truly amazing. It is an honor to be surrounded by these caring sponsors as well as so many other great friends who have given so generously and volunteered with such passion. Together, we’ll make next year’s Gala even better!
